Stephen serves as Assistant General Counsel. He is responsible for providing strategic legal advice and counsel to Preston Hollow’s executive management, origination, credit, and capital markets teams on a broad array of corporate, contract, litigation, and compliance matters.

Prior to joining Preston Hollow in January 2024, Stephen was a Shareholder with Winstead PC, where he represented businesses and individuals for more than a dozen years in high-stakes, complex commercial disputes across a wide range of industries, including financial services, real estate, construction, insurance, higher education, aerospace, and health care.

Before practicing law, Stephen clerked for Judge Edward C. Prado of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and Chief Judge Mark E. Fuller of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama. He graduated with honors from The University of Texas School of Law, where he served as an articles editor for the Texas Law Review. He received a B.S in commerce (accounting), with a second major in history, from the University of Virginia.
